Kenta Maeda to face Jose Fernandez, who knows about hot starts

LOS ANGELES – Kenta Maeda is off to the kind of start to his major league career that Jose Fernandez can truly appreciate.
Perhaps on Thursday the two can talk about it, but they might want to get their matchup at Dodger Stadium out of the way first.

Maeda, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ first-year sensation, will be making his fifth career start Thursday after giving up just one run over his first four outings. Fernandez, who will start opposite of him for the Miami Marlins, knows a little something about making a huge splash in the major leagues.
Fernandez was a rookie in 2013, although his debut came at the tender young age of 20. Maeda is 28, with eight years of experience professionally in Japan.
