A Premier League tribunal has ordered Liverpool to pay a total of £8 million for the transfer of Danny Ings, bringing an end to a lengthy saga involving the England international’s move to Anfield from Burnley.

According to Dominic King of the Daily Mail, Burnley will also be entitled to 20 per cent of any future transfer fee for Ings.

Ings joined the Reds as a free agent in 2015, but Burnley were entitled to a development fee—something the two clubs couldn’t agree on. The matter eventually went to the Compensation Committee, which has now ordered Liverpool to pay £6.5 million immediately along with £1.5 million in add-ons.

Ings has missed most of the 2015-16 campaign with a knee injury, but he scored 32 Premier League goals combined in the two seasons prior with Burnley, per WhoScored.com.
