Corrales stuns Uchiyama with second-round KO

Jezreel Corrales pulled a major upset on Wednesday, knocking out long-reigning junior lightweight world titleholder Takashi Uchiyama in the second round at the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.
Corrales, a 24-year-old southpaw from Panama, entered the bout as the interim titleholder and mandatory challenger for Uchiyama, 36, of Japan, who was undefeated and making the 12th defense of his 130-pound world title, which he had had held since 2010.
But Corrales (20-1, 8 KOs) blew through Uchiyama (24-1-1, 29 KOs) in stunningly easy fashion. He nailed him with an assortment of fast combinations and knocked him down three times in the second round.
