Coach: Jones will probably never take short notice fight again

Although Jon Jones was crowned UFC interim light heavyweight champion at UFC 197, many fans were disappointed in his performance.
The Jackson-Wink protege had been out of action for over a year due to legal troubles, and many expected ‘Bones’ to make a statement against #6 ranked Ovince Saint Preux. Jones did cruise to a unanimous decision victory, but the 28-year-old was lacking the championship spark and tenacity fans had grown accustomed to.
Jones admitted in the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan that it wasn’t the return he had anticipated, and UFC president Dana White believed the former official champion got off lightly by avoiding Daniel Cormier in the main event. …
