Powerful Duke squad headlines Jimmy V Classic in December

The only storyline that matters off Wednesday’s announcement of the matchups for the Jimmy V Men’s Basketball Classicis this: Duke will be the show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
On Dec. 6, 2016, Purdue will face Arizona State before Duke battles Florida in the event, which ESPN will televise as part of Jimmy V Week for Cancer Research.
Here are a few things to consider for both matchups.
Duke vs. Florida
At stake for Duke: The Blue Devils, who boast the No. 2 recruiting class in the country per RecruitingNation, will field the nation’s most talented nucleus in 2016-17, a truth that should lead to a No. 1 preseason ranking for Mike Krzyzewski’s squad. He has the No. 1 (Harry Giles), No. 3 (Jayson Tatum) and No. 10 (Frank Jackson) prospects in the country.Preseason All-American guard Grayson Allen is back, too.
