NFL Draft 2016: Full Predictions for Carson Wentz and Most Buzzworthy Prospects

The 2016 NFL draft is finally upon us. 

In just over 24 hours, we’ll know where all the top prospects in this year’s draft class will land. Until then, however, it’s time to make some final predictions for North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz and other buzzworthy players. 

Let’s review which selections each team holds on Day 1 and then predict where some of the top players will be taken off the board. 

Note that the New England Patriots forfeited their selection in Round 1, so there are only 31 picks on Day 1. 

Full Predictions for Buzzworthy Prospects

QB Carson Wentz: No. 1 overall, Los Angeles Rams 

No one will know who the Los Angeles Rams are selecting with the No. 1 overall pick until they announce it on Thursday, but most have arrived at the conclusion that it will be California quarterback Jared Goff.

But could those rumors be a smokescreen? It’s hard to see how the Rams could overlook Wentz, who is clearly a better fit for their offense than Goff. 

Wentz played in a pro-style offense at NDSU and fits what the Rams do in their run-first scheme. Goff, on the other hand, operated almost exclusively out of the shotgun at Cal.
