Who is Michy Batshuayi?

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his interest in Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi but who is he and where would he fit in?

Batshuayi has emerged from Belgium and been linked with a host of English clubs including Crystal Palace, Liverpool and West Ham – but Tottenham have emerged as frontrunners after Pochettino’s praise for the 22-year-old. 

“We are looking for a striker this summer,” the Spurs boss told French radio station RMC. “Batshuayi is a young player who has a lot of talent. He is logically followed by many clubs. We have information about him. He has good potential.”

It is believed that Batshuayi – who could cost upwards of £30m – wants to play Champions League football and go where he is assured to feature regularly.
