DENVER — Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen broke out of his slump in a big way Tuesday, blasting three home runs and collecting five RBIs in the first six innings of a 9-4 victory over the Rockies at Coors Field.

McCutchen had a chance to become the first Pirate to hit four homers in a game, but he grounded out to short in the eighth.
