Where did all this Cardinals power come from?

PHOENIX — Back in January, with St. Louis Cardinals fans still a little jittery about their team amid a quiet offseason, general manager John Mozeliak sat in his office overlooking Clark Avenue and made a comment that seemed to mingle confidence with a certain level of internal worry.
“I certainly understand the critics who are concerned about our offense, but I don’t think they’re giving us credit for the potential bounce you may see,” Mozeliak said. “Now, if that bounce doesn’t happen, then they’re right, we’re going to be short and it’s going to be tough scoring runs. But I have a lot of confidence in our club.”
The bounce, so far, is real.
