Venus Williams withdraws from WTA Madrid

It will be a very short clay-court season for Venus Williams. The American, who played only one tournament on clay this year so far in Charleston where Alison Riske defeated her in the second round, has withdrawn from WTA Madrid due to a right hamstring injury.
