Manager Dunkin, Victory Boxing get to work

Manager Cameron Dunkin is best known for guiding the careers of numerous top fighters. He managed the late Diego Corrales and Johnny Tapia, Hall of Famer Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson, Danny Romero, Stevie Johnston, Kelly Pavlik, Timothy Bradley Jr. and others.

Among the fighters in his stable today are junior welterweight titlist Terence Crawford, junior featherweight titleholder Nonito Donaire and welterweight titleholder Jessie Vargas.

A few years ago, he had signed several young fighters with fledgling promoter TKO Boxing. While the company eventually went out of business, it was loaded with Dunkin’s fighters who would go on to win world titles, including Crawford, Leo Santa Cruz, Randy Caballero and Alfonso Blanco.

Few have the kind of keen eye for amateur talent that Dunkin has and now he has reloaded his stable and signed several prospects with upstart Victory Boxing Promotions, an outfit headed by Chris Middendorf, who used to be with TKO.

Dunkin and Victory have a big night ahead on Saturday. Victory is promoting its first card, which will take place at the Dixie Center in St. George, Utah, and include seven fighters managed by Dunkin and promoted by Victory.
