Buckeyes are the Big Ten crowned champions after sweeping their rivals in all 11 matches!

5th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes has written the Big Ten Conference history, after clinching the regular-season title with a perfect 11-0 score, not losing a single match on that road! The Buckeyes are 27-2 and 11-0 at the end of this season, being in perfect position before the final encounters in the conference and nation play. They needed to work hard to earn the doubles point, as Aron Hiltzik/Aleks Vukic put the Illini in the lead after beating Ralf Steinbach/Martin Joyce 6-3 on court 2. Mikael Torpegaard/Herkko Pollanen responded well, beating Jared Hiltzik/Pengxuan Jiang 6-3 on the main court to stay in touch for the opening point. The ultimate drama was going on between Hugo Di Feo/Matt Mendez and Brian Page/Julian Childers on court 3, with the Buckeyes only 2 games away from losing their first point in this season’s conference campaign. Di Feo and Mendez broke their rivals in game 9 to serve for the match, but the Illini pair fought back, leveling the score at 5-5.
