Aguero’s Real record

Sergio Aguero will need to be at his best if Manchester City are to see off 10-time champions Real Madrid and reach their first ever Champions League final.
Aguero knows Real well from his time at city rivals Atletico and has also found the net against them in a City shirt – but he’s still waiting for his first win.
Here’s his history against Real Madrid…
First game
Aguero arrived as a £25m signing with an exciting reputation in the summer of 2006 but it was an inauspicious introduction to the Madrid derby – a fixture that Atletico had not won since the Argentine was 11 years old.
After coming off the bench, he had the chance to win the match but scooped an effort over the bar late on. “It was a nice idea, but he got the execution wrong,” said Real goalkeeper Iker Casillas. Atletico strike partner Fernando Torres called the 1-1 draw “two points lost”.
First goal
Aguero’s first goal against Real Madrid came the following season at the Bernabeu and it didn’t take long either as he nipped in at the back post to score from Mariano Pernia’s corner in the first minute of the match.
