NFL very ‘pleased’

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell came away as the big winner on Monday after the Second Circuit United States Court of Appeals made the decision reinstate Tom Brady’s four-game suspension.
The ruling affirmed the league’s belief that Goodell has the power to punish players in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement that was agreed upon by both the NFL and NFLPA.
Shortly after the ruling came down, the NFL announced that it was pleased with the decision made by the appeals court.
“We are pleased the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled today that the commissioner properly exercised his authority under the collective bargaining agreement to act in cases involving the integrity of the game,” the league said in a statement. “That authority has been recognized by many courts and has been expressly incorporated into every collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and …
