Tennis- Second seed Ekaterina Makarova and fifth seed Timea Babos have safely moved into the second round whereas third seed Anna Karolina Schmiedlova and sixth seed Annika Beck were ousted in the first round of the 2016 Grand Prix WTA Tournament in Rabat, Morocco.
Second seed Ekaterina Makarova faced Romania’s Alexandra Dulgheru, who had beaten the Russian in both of their previous meetings. Five of the first six games of the match were breaks of serve as Makarova broke Dulgheru three times and took the first set 6-4. In the second set Dulgheru was broken three times again and Makarova was broken once as she took the second set 6-2 to go through to the second round. On …
