Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino believes he has a duty to build his team around a core of English players.
Spurs could provide several members of Roy Hodgson’s starting line-up at Euro 2016, with Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane all likely to be involved with England.
Pochettino feels it is important to have players in his squad who understand the “English culture” and that it has helped foster a strong sense of identity within his squad, whose Premier League title challenge continues with a game against West Brom at White Hart Lane on Monday Night Football.
