Alex Rodriguez, Carlos Carrasco among those injured this weekend

This was a tough weekend injury-wise around the majors, as a number of notable players went down. Here’s a statistical look at the impact of some of the biggest departures.
Alex Rodriguez
Rodriguez exited Sunday’s loss to the Rays with an oblique injury and will get an MRI to determine its severity.
Rodriguez left with a .145 batting average and five RBIs in 15 games this season. Though Rodriguez’s numbers were not good, he may have been hitting into some bad luck. He had 11 hard-hit balls in 55 at-bats (a 20 percent hard-hit rate), but was 6-for-11 on them (including a flyout to the fence on Saturday). Last season, Rodriguez had an .897 batting average when registering a hard-hit ball.
Carlos Carrasco
