Rockets come undone in third quarter, now on verge of elimination

HOUSTON — It was a third quarter of embarrassment for the Houston Rockets and it has placed the team on the brink of elimination. Houston is down 3-1 in this best-of-seven series after losing 121-94 to the defending champion Golden State Warriors on Sunday afternoon.
It was the second-worst loss in franchise history.
In the history of the franchise, Houston is 2-9 when down 3-1 in a best-of-seven series. The last time the Rockets trailed 3-1 in a series was in the West semifinals last season. Houston rallied from that deficit to win in seven games against the Los Angeles Clippers. Golden State awaited the Rockets in the West finals and beat them in five games.
