Red Raiders moves to the second place in the Big 12 standings after 5-2 win over Longhorns

Texas Tech Red Raiders stays in the chase for the Big 12 conference title after defeating Texas Longhorns 5-2 at their McLeod Tennis Center. The Red Raiders improves to 25-4 this season (3-1 in Big 12), moving to second place in the conference standings and breaking the 3 straight match loss to the Longhorns. With this victory, Texas Tech ties the school record for the most wins in the season, as they have 25 in 2005 too, but with a chance to improve it in the last match of the season against TCU, when the Big 12 title is going to be decided. 19-th ranked Texas couldn’t keep the pace with the home team, losing the doubles point and also the first set on 4 singles courts. Alex Sendegeya/Bjorn Thomson, the only ranked team among the 6 that were competing, defeated George Goldhoff/Michael Riechmann 6-3 in a good opener for the Red Raiders. On court 2, Adrian Ortiz/Julian Zlobinsky responded strong for the Longhorns, toppling Connor Curry/Felipe Soares 6-2 to force a deciding match on court 3.
