Sherman: Benefits of football outweigh the risks

On one side of the aisle are former NFL players like Chris Borland, A.J. Tarpley, and Husain Abdullah. On the other side are current stars like J.J. Watt and Bruce Arians. One side — Borland’s — sees the threat of concussions as a deal breaker while the other believes the benefits of football outweigh the dangers.
Add Richard Sherman’s name to that second group. The last time we heard from Sherman on this topic, he said that he hadn’t watched the movie Concussion because he sees “a concussion movie every Sunday for free. I don’t need to go to the theater.” But, during a recent interview with GQ, Sherman made it clear that the Seahawks don’t need to worry about their top cornerback retiring early.
