USMNT Watch: Pulisic Scores for 2nd Straight Week as Copa Buzz Continues
- Updated: April 24, 2016
The buzz surrounding the next future star of the United States men’s national soccer team continued this weekend as Christian Pulisic netted his second consecutive goal for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
Pulisic is one of the best prospects in the history of the national team program, and the talk about him joining the Yanks for June’s Copa America Centenario is serious.
The 17-year-old wasn’t the only potential member of the 23-man Copa squad to find the back of the net on Saturday. Jordan Morris also extended his scoring streak for the Seattle Sounders.
We’ll have news on those stories and much more below in our latest USMNT Watch.

Pulisic knocked in a rebound in the 45th minute of Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Saturday for his second goal in as many games.

Had the USMNT U23 squad qualified for the Olympics, Pulisic would have been a lock to play in that competition to further his progress on the world’s biggest stage, but now sights are set on the Copa.
There’s no guarantee Pulisic will start, given the experience in the USMNT squad, but he has the potential to be a key piece off the bench for Jurgen Klinsmann and Co.
Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Alfredo Morales returned to the Ingolstadt starting lineup and notched a tally in the 10th minute in their 2-2 draw with Hannover.
Down in the 2. Bundesliga, Bobby Wood handed out an assist in Union Berlin’s 6-2 defeat at the hands of Nurnberg.
