Jones: I was ‘completely wasting talent’ with partying ways

It’s been a rough year for the pound-for-pound #1. In 2015, Jon Jones was stripped of the light-heavyweight title – a title he had defended eight times – after his involvement in a hit-and-run incident that left a pregnant woman with a broken arm.
As well as losing the belt, ‘Bones’ was suspended by the UFC and his exclusive sponsorship deal with Reebok was terminated. The Jackson-Wink protege pleaded guilty to hit-and-run and was served with 18 months probation, which marked the beginning of a new chapter in Jones’ life.
The 28-year-old gave talks to high school children, explaining his personal voyage and how he was on the road to recovery. It was during this time of self reflection that Jones had an epiphany – he was wasting the championship talent he’d been blessed with.
