The Jacksonville Jaguars discussed the possibility of adding Norman, but have bowed out, according to a report by Mike DiRocco. And Adam Schefter reported that the New Orleans Saints made a late push.
John Keim makes the case Norman will add much needed talent and attitude to the Washington secondary. According to Football Outsiders’ rankings, the Redskins were 19th against the pass overall and 27th against passes to the offense’s right side in 2015.
The Panthers, with Norman manning that side of the field, were tops in the league on throws to the right. The signing means two meetings a year for Norman with Odell Beckham Jr. In all likelihood, ESPN will be launching a spinoff site to cover the hype leading up to those matchups. Mike Triplett has a good story on Baylor hoops standout Rico Gathers (6-foot-7, 276 pounds), who is trying to make the transition from the hardwood to the NFL. My favorite part is that Gathers made a “business decision” in eighth grade to choose basketball over football.
