Polar develops GoPro compatibility

Polar provided a sneak peak of its “Works with GoPro” platform that is scheduled to launch with the company’s V800 GPS watch sometime this year. The new compatibility works both ways, allowing users to operate GoPro cameras with the V800 watch and also transmit data (speed, distance, altitude, and heart rate) from the watch to their GoPro-filmed material.

Vanilla Workshop rolls out Speedvagen’s Ready-Made program

The OG-1 road machine is the first model available through Speedvagen’s Ready-Made program, in which frames are pre-built, painted, and ready to order in a range of sizes with pre-configured components. Built at the Vanilla Workshop, the Speedvagen Ready-Made program was created to reduce production time and make bikes more affordable. Speedvagen’s OG-1 (Original Gangster) race machine is available with a mix of Shimano Dura-Ace and Ultegra mechanical parts, Mavic wheels, Pro handlebars, and an Enve fork, fully built for $5,385.

Campagnolo EPS drivetrain data visible with Garmin devices

Thanks to Garmin’s most recent software update, riders with Campagnolo’s newest EPS drivetrains can now view current gear position, gear ratio, and EPS battery life on several Garmin devices in real time. Ant+ and Bluetooth LE (low energy) antennas located inside the Campy interface enable EPS drivetrains to communicate directly with Garmin’s Edge 520 and Edge 1000 head units (as well as most smart phones). Riders with Campy’s EPS V3 group can utilize this compatibility by installing the new software update.
