Thierry Henry has insisted Wayne Rooney must go to Euro 2016 with England this summer, but believes the captain is no longer a guaranteed starter for his country.
The Sky Sports pundit considers Rooney to be an important part of Roy Hodgson’s squad, but the form of other strikers means he is no longer guaranteed a place in the starting XI, at least not as the main striker.
“I don’t even know why there was a question of him going to the Euros or not,” Henry told Sky Sports Now. “Now the question is if he is going to start. Should he start? Play on the left? Play behind the striker?
