To see who can be the favorites at Roland Garros one first has to see the trend in the Monte Carlo Masters, which in many aspects, especially with regard to the surface is the most similar to the Parisian Slam. It is not a scientific method, indeed last year Stan Wawrinka played badly in the first European Masters with an endless series of unforced errors, but was still able to beat Novak Djokovic (who was the winner in Monte Carlo that year) in Paris with a great performance.
