Maritza Plovdiv one win away from defending national title

Plovdiv, Bulgaria, April 21, 2016 – Maritza Plovdiv obtained a two-victory lead over Levski Sofia in their best-of-five final series in the Bulgarian Women’s National Volleyball League Demax+ at Plovdiv University Hall.
Maritza is only one win away from defending their crown after they faced a serious challenge to its winning streak that stretched to 44 consecutive sets, as the squad dropped a set last time on January 25 in a 3-1 away victory at Levski Sofia.
Levski Sofia ended once again Maritza’s 46 set-wins by winning the third set of the first encounter in the championship series, but it was not enough to upset latter. Maritza had a clear advantage as their fans flocked to the sports hall and witnessed their team secure a 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 25-27, 25-14) win over Levski Sofia, which was a perfect gift to assistant coach Ivan Radichev’s 36th birthday.
