Padres place Erlin on DL with left elbow strain

SAN DIEGO — A rough week on the Padres’ injury front got worse Thursday, as the club placed left-hander Robbie Erlin on the 15-day disabled list with a left-elbow strain.
The Padres recalled right-handed reliever Leonel Campos from Triple-A El Paso, but it remains unclear who will start in Erlin’s place on Saturday against St. Louis. Carlos Villanueva and Brad Hand — relievers who have started in the past — are the likely options.
