PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton was released from the hospital Thursday after spending the night as a result of a crash into the boards in Wednesday’s game.
He was taken off the ice on a stretcher during the first period of Game 4 against the Washington Capitals at Wells Fargo Center. The Flyers announced that all tests have come back negative.
Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said in a statement that Laughton is doing well, but he will not travel with the team to Washington for Friday’s Game 5. Hextall said that the team will issue an update in the coming days.
Teammates said Thursday they heard from trainer Jim McCrossin that Laughton was walking around and talking at the hospital and was expected to be released.
