Gers and Hibs stars recognised

Rangers pair Martyn Waghorn and Lee Wallace and Hibernian duo Jason Cummings and John McGinn have been nominated for the PFA Championship Player of the Year award.
Club captain Wallace and striker Waghorn have played pivotal roles in guiding Rangers to the Championship title and promotion back to the top flight in Scotland in manager Mark Warburton’s first year in charge at Ibrox.
For most of the season their closest title challengers were Hibs, for whom Cummings and McGinn have been standout performers, with the Edinburgh side still aiming to gain promotion through the play-offs.
As well as all four nominees battling it out for the top individual prize, they are set to square off again on May 21 in the Scottish Cup final.
Waghorn has hit 28 goals this season and paid tribute to his team-mates after his nomination, admitting that his career was in danger of stalling before his move to Glasgow following frustrating periods at Leicester and then being frozen out by Malky Mackay at Wigan.
“It’s recognition for everything the boys have put in this year and I’m really pleased how they have all contributed to my success,” he said.
