Rafael Nadal avoided possible rain delays and in 67 minutes beat Albert Montanes 6-2 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals.
Speaking about his match, Nadal said, ‘Today I played a good game, a very full game against a rival who came after having won good matches and I think he didn’t do badly. I did well during the whole match, and there were moments where there was a good level. I’m happy about the victory and the game. I am never 100 % satisfied with anything. There is always room to improve and room to do better. I am happy with the way I am hitting the ball but you can always be better. My goal has always to improve every day. Winning in Monte Carlo and being in the quarter finals here are very good results.’ And now Nadal’s focusing in preparing for his quarter-final against Fognini, a player who beat him thrice last year, on Friday.
