Andrus wins Durrett Hardest Working Man Award

ARLINGTON — Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus has been selected as the 2016 winner of the Richard Durrett Hardest Working Man Award, the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America announced on Thursday.
Andrus will be honored at the 2017 Dr. Pepper Texas Rangers Awards Dinner on Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. CT at Gilley’s Dallas. Tickets for the dinner are on sale at texasrangers.com/awards.
This is the third year that the local BBWAA chapter has presented the award to a player who demonstrates significant improvement over the previous season or seasons. It is named in memory of Richard Durrett, who covered the Rangers for over a decade for the Dallas Morning News and ESPN Radio before his sudden passing on June 17, 2014, at the age of 38.
