Franchise favorite Alfonzo to manage Brooklyn

NEW YORK — A franchise favorite will return to a prominent role in the Mets’ organization this season. Class A Short-Season Brooklyn announced Thursday that Edgardo Alfonzo will become its manager in 2017.
