Abdul Majeed Waris will not be adding to his 22 caps in Gabon
Striker Abdul Majeed Waris has been left out of the Ghana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
The 25-year-old forward, who plays for Lorient in Ligue 1, was a surprise omission as coach Avram Grabt trimmed his list to the final 23.
Striker Asamoah Gyan, of Al Ahly in the United Arab Emirates, will captain the team, assisted by West Ham United midfielder Andre Ayew.
Newcastle United’s Christian Atsu is also part of the squad.
