Who is Marco Silva?

Former Olympiakos manager Marco Silva has been appointed as Hull’s new head coach following the sacking of Mike Phelan on Tuesday.
Phelan was axed less than three months after taking charge on a permanent basis, with Hull’s owners – who said they were seeking a “fresh direction” – moving quickly to name his successor.
The Tigers confirmed on Thursday morning that Silva would take charge until the end of the season, with vice-chairman Ehab Allam declaring it a “bold and exciting appointment.”

Silva has flourished as the underdog before
In his first job in football management at Estoril, Silva won an unlikely promotion to the top flight. He also won the league manager of the year award.
Few gave him and his players a chance of competing against the likes of Porto and Sporting Lisbon. However, Silva guided Estoril to fifth in the Primeira Liga, securing the side a Europa League spot for the first time in their history.
