Kyle Edmund progressed to the quarter-finals of the Brisbane International when sixth seed Lucas Pouille retired during their second round clash.
Frenchman Pouille was trailing 6-3 3-1 to the British No 2 when he called time on his day soon after being treated for blisters on his feet.
