Baines wants festive momentum

Leighton Baines says Everton’s impressive festive form has given them a platform to build on for the second half of the season.
A 3-0 win over Southampton made it seven points from a possible nine over Christmas and New Year, with Ronald Koeman’s side also taking a point from Hull and beating Premier League champions Leicester 2-0 at the King Power stadium.
Everton will meet the Foxes again in the FA Cup on January 7 but, with only one top-six team in Manchester City to face between now and March, Baines is keen to gather momentum.
