ATLANTA — The Los Angeles Dodgers were unsure of right-hander Pedro Baez’s status for Thursday’s game at Atlanta after he was hit on the head by a ball while in the bullpen on Wednesday night.
The mishap happened during Wednesday’s game against the Braves when left-hander Adam Liberatore was warming up in the bullpen and threw a ball that hit Baez on the back of the head.
“We’re doing tests right now, so he was down [for the night],” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Baez’s status in the wake of the incident. “I talked to him, and he seems OK. It hit him square in the back of the head.”
