Carra on Spurs’ title hopes

Jamie Carragher says Tottenham are better than last season, but their title hopes might be over if they fail to beat Chelsea on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side followed up Wednesday’s 4-1 victory at Southampton with a win at Watford by the same scoreline on New Year’s Day to move back into the top four with 19 games played.
Coincidentally, Spurs won at Watford in their 19th game of last season to move onto 35 points, four points behind then-leaders Arsenal.
This season they are four points better off, but are 10 adrift of leaders Chelsea and Carragher says it’s essential they cut that gap to seven when they host Antonio Conte’s side in their next match, live on Sky Sports 1.
