David Wright: ‘Pretty impossible’ to make game-ending play in Mets’ loss to Phillies

PHILADELPHIA — New York Mets third baseman David Wright knew he was helpless to throw out Peter Bourjos on what became a game-ending infield single. The grounder down the line was pulling Wright in the wrong direction and gave him no chance to put anything on his throw to first base. Freddy Galvis scored on the play and the Philadelphia Phillies produced a 5-4, walk-off victory in the 11th inning Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park.
