Jan Vertonghen will not face retrospective action over an incident not seen by the officials during Tottenham’s clash with Southampton.
The Belgium defender caught Saints striker Jay Rodriguez in the face as he completed a clearance in the 17th minute of Wednesday’s match at St Mary’s.
