JuanFerrales BLNO top team – Kongsberg (13-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Centrum (8-9) 91-54. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Centrum. The game without a history. Kongsberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Centrum’s 28. Kongsberg forced 20 Centrum turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cuban-American guard Juan Ferrales (188-91, college: Barry) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 steals. American guard C.J. Oldham (203-91, college: Gannon) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. point guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) replied with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Centrum. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kongsberg have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-2 record. Defending champion Centrum keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Kongsberg are looking forward to face Nidaros Jets (#4) in Tromdheim in the next round. Centrum will play at home against Tromso and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident. The game in Asker was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Baerum Basket (11-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Asker Aliens (7-8). Baerum Basket defeated Asker Aliens 74-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asker Aliens. Point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) scored 26 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and James Weatherspoon chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Asker Aliens’ coach Lars Gunnar Sonsteby rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Baerum Basket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader Kongsberg, which they share with Froya Basket. Asker Aliens at the other side keep the seventh place with eight games lost. Baerum Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Asker Aliens will play on the road against Froya Basket (#3) in Laksevag and hope to get back on the winning track. A very close game took place in Tromso between Tromso and Nidaros Jets. Ninth ranked Tromso (5-12) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Nidaros Jets (10-7). Tromso managed to escape with a 3-point win 82-79 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Henrik Lange notched 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort. Even 21 points by Evan Roquemore did not help to save the game for Nidaros Jets. Tromso maintains ninth position with 5-12 record. Nidaros Jets lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Tromso will meet higher ranked Ammerud Bskt (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nidaros Jets will play against the league’s leader Kongsberg (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.In the last game of round 14 Gimle BBK were beaten by Froya Basket on the road 69-63.
