Poch hails ‘dominant’ Spurs
- Updated: December 29, 2016
Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham dominated Southampton and felt Nathan Redmond’s red card was irrelevant to the result.
Dele Alli struck twice as Tottenham battled from a goal down to beat 10-man Saints 4-1 on Wednesday night and claim their first away victory since September.
Spurs were 2-0 in front at St Mary’s when the penalty incident with Redmond occurred and Pochettino believes his side were already on course for victory.
“It was not a key action to change the game because in that moment, we dominated the game, we created a lot of chances,” Pochettino said.
“It was difficult to see from my position but we deserve more than Southampton. We played better, it’s a very fair result.”
