Stephen Cook and Dean Elgar batted through a wicketless first session in Port Elizabeth as South Africa made a solid start to their Test series against Sri Lanka. Cook went to lunch on 52, while Elgar – who only faced 71 balls in the first session to his opening partner’s 104 – was batting on 39.
