Slovakia – Jones’ 24 points and 8 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

Andre Jones 26-year old guard Andre Jones (191-G-90) had a great game in the last round for Prievidza and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.He had the game-high 24 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Prievidza in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Levice (#4, 13-4) 92-79. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. Prievidza is placed at 3rd position in Slovakian league. They are still close to the very top. Prievidza would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 13-3 record. In the team’s last game Jones had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Prievidza’s top player in his first season with the team. Winthrop University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league’s top in points (7th best: 16.5ppg) and averages solid 67.9% FGP and 41.4% from behind 3-point line.Second best performed player last round was Anton Shoutvin (206-C-89) of Iskra Svit.
