‘Foxes can cope without Vardy’

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has backed the Foxes to cope without the banned Jamie Vardy.
The England striker is suspended for the champions’ next three games, starting with the Boxing Day visit of Everton.
Vardy was sent off in last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Stoke for a challenge on Mame Biram Diouf, with referee Craig Pawson deeming the foul reckless enough to warrant a straight red.
Leicester failed with their appeal to get the ban overturned, despite boss Claudio Ranieri saying the whole world could see Vardy’s tackle was not a foul.
But Schmeichel believes last season’s Premier League champions will handle his absence, with the forward also missing games against West Ham and Middlesbrough.
