W2W4: Los Angeles Kings at San Jose Sharks, Game 4

SAN JOSE, Calif. — A pivotal game awaits here Wednesday as the San Jose Sharks attempt to grab a 3-1 series lead while the Los Angeles Kings try to even things up 2-2 before heading home.
Here’s what to watch for in Game 4 tonight at 10:30 ET:
Blocked shots: The Kings were credited with 27 blocked shots to the Sharks’ 18 in Game 3, the first time in the series that L.A. got the upper hand on San Jose in this department.
“It definitely is an indicator of where your desperation level is at. Theirs was in a must win-spot and ours was a little bit below that,” Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. “We have it get it back there.”
The Kings blocked a bunch on the Sharks’ power-play, closing up lanes. Brent Burns had 10 of his 19 shot attempts blocked in Game 3, which shows how much the Kings are focusing on the Sharks’ star blueliner.
“Get in the shooting lane and hope it hits you,” veteran Kings defenseman Rob Scuderi said of San Jose’s approach to blocking shots.
“I thought in Game 1 there were a couple of shots, as defensemen, that we could have had,” Scuderi added. “If it gets past you, then it’s a scrum or tip or something. You want to avoid those chances if you can. But I thought everyone did a good job [in Game 3]. You try to fill the lane and make him shoot to the area where the goalie has it covered.”
