UFC on Fox 22 Medical Suspensions: Jouban, Perry Facing Potential 6-Month Layoffs

Alan Jouban and Mike Perry could be sidelined for a significant period of time following their featured welterweight tilt at UFC on Fox 22 this past Saturday.Jouban, who defeated Perry via unanimous decision in the opening bout on the evening’s main card at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif., is suspended 180 days for a possible fracture to his left knee unless he is cleared by a physician. Meanwhile, Perry faces the same suspension unless he is cleared for a possible fracture to the nose. The California State Athletic Commission recently released a list of medical suspensions from the event, which saw Michelle Waterson submit Paige VanZant via rear-naked choke in the card’s strawweight headliner. VanZant was suspended 45 days for going unconscious during the choke. Six other fighters from UFC on Fox 22 are also facing potential six-month layoffs: Cole Miller (hand), Colby Covington (orbital), James Moontasri (nose), Josh Emmett (rib), Irene Aldana (eye) and Hector Sandoval (hip).UFC on Fox …
