Maddon relishes reuniting with closer Davis

CHICAGO — Manager Joe Maddon is excited about the prospect of being reunited with Wade Davis, who will be the Cubs’ closer in 2017.
“This guy knows how to pitch,” Maddon said of the right-hander during an interview Monday on MLB Network’s “Hot Stove.”
“It’s not just about throwing one pitch and trying to blow people away,” Maddon said of Davis. “He’s got a great slider, a cutter that he came up with, and I love his curveball, and he knows how to compete on both sides of the plate.”
