Tar Heels finish regular season in style with 6-1 victory over Blue Devils

After back-to-back defeats to Wake Forest and Notre Dame, North Carolina Tar Heels have managed to finish the regular season in style, with 3 wins. In their last match before conference battles, the Tar Heels took down Duke Blue Devils by 6-1 in Durham, ending the season with 24=3 score, and 9-3 in ACC. They are now free until Friday when ACC Championships starts. 64th ranked Duke was no match for the Tar Heels as the better-ranked team stormed to win 5 quick matches, taking the victory home to Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels started strong in doubles and never looked back, grabbing the first victory when Anudeep Kodali/Ronnie Schneider toppled Josh Levine/Catalin Mateas 6-2. They built 4-1 lead before brought the match safely home. There was a bigger fight on court 2, where Jack Murray/Brayden Schnur defeated Daniel McCall/Jason Lapidus 6-3. The teams exchanged early breaks to be leveled at 3-3 before the Tar Heels squad sealed the deal with a double break.
